The Food Factory - Matarskemman
Matarskemman is a small food factory and takeaway kitchen in Laugar, Þingeyjarsveit.
We work closely with local farmers and producers, buying meat, fish and ingredients from the surrounding region whenever possible.
Our food is homemade, seasonal and prepared with respect for Icelandic traditions and modern cooking.
In winter we mainly cook for locals and students in the area. In summer, travelers also discover us while exploring North Iceland.
Dettfoss Food Truck
In summer you can also find us at our food truck near Dettifoss, one of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls.
There we serve a small menu focused on traditional Icelandic dishes made with local ingredients — food that fits the landscape and the journey.
It is a simple, honest food stop for thoughtful travelers exploring the north.
